For those having issues with paying the rent: You MUST have >$500 in bank before going to sleep on day 6. How I achieved this: HUSTLE every day, only buy GOOD/MINT quality; clean, research, and authorize EVERYTHING; and have a teensy bit of luck (I had to reset game a couple times to finally get a success). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES unlock Abella until AFTER reaching day 7. Her bonuses (allowing to buy, clean, research with spending actions) don't become available until after then.
Kal, agreed. GOOD/MINT or VERIFIED. Fewer steps to sell = more transactions. MINT/VERIFIED can be flipped w/ little to no extra actions (besides sell). Can also vouch that $500 satisfies rent to Lexi.
Do not click the alert icon at the top of the screen. It forces you to hire Abella, who takes $25/day for... doing nothing? Instant bankruptcy.
No ability to save plus the glitches, the game breaks so easy. This game could be good once it's actually playable.

how to save this game?
I had over $400. Then I suddenly had $250 and my income was blocked until I paid Lexi. I discovered that if you pick the quiet day option, you get $25 every night. I built that up to over $1000. Thinking I was all set, I went looking for a way to pay Lexie. There isn't one. You'd think it would be the big flashing rent button, but you'd be wrong...
I've bought and sold everything at a profit, but somehow only have $21 and need to pay rent so I can't do anything...
Can't earn enough money to pay rent. Then cant do marketplace as all money gets locked in owed rent. Lame

Don't forget to change "s.state.money = 9" to whatever amount of money you want
justaguyfixingashitgame, If it works for others... great, but it did not for me. followed step by step, which I thought was well done by the way, and if I change the 9 to say 9mill, all i get is an arrow pointing left and the word in light grey "undefined". I leave it at 9 or say 900 and i get a different error with red x saying syntax error

FreeJerker, it worked for me: after entering my name and starting Day 1, I right-clicked on an empty area and clicked Inspect then I pasted the code, changed money to 9999, and it worked
FreeJerker, spoke too soon. had gone back in cpl times. hit continue couple times, but nothing changed. then i wrote message here, went back to finally start playing through the game, and this time after hitting continue I had 9million in cash. day 42 all stories completed.
Guys, for the startup, you buy items from the marketplace, then you have to see the items that you have and click the options that show below, like clean, authentication, research... Then you start making money, then you build enough till lvl 2 and then you can make even more. Simple. Hope it helps.

It's a nice idea, but there's a ridiculous dead end in the game—you can't buy anything, even though you have money, for some absurd reason.

game can't be beaten, it just force locks you in to a situation you can't get out of and there's no tutorial on how to do shit... so a rent popup comes up, and stays there forever, then you continually make money, though it shows negative income, and you can't buy anything to get out of it... all in all, the game had good roots until the wall it forces you against.
Rakunera, quick update... managed to pay rent, then couldn't afford to buy anything afterwards as I only had 3 dollars following... make the game simpler, or take it down, cuz this much of a grind for little to no payout is stupid

nards, once you get the 1000 dollars, Lexi is unlocked in the neighborhood... I finally managed to unlock everything, and once you make it to level 2, making money is a cake walk
