Shalltear Bloodfallen, I had this problem as well but the way I fixed it was I only changed my character at the start and left everything else as default. This should work.

Good game. Great story and written well enough to keep me reading. Could perhaps use a little more player agency (no pun intended) and branching paths, but that is of course a lot more work that a one time player wouldn't immediately notice.
